Special Thanks

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Speaking of celebrating even the small wins and milestones along the way, I’d like to say a very special thank you to the person who sent me this card.

Last year, I learned how to get out of my comfort zone, never be complacent, boldly pursue my dreams, never take no for an answer, never sell myself short, not compromise on my personal values (however unpopular it may be to the rest of the world) .. and face an absolutely crushing set back. These are things I already know for a while, but in 2008, I actually got to DO them (including the last part that involved tears). Was I scared? Yup. But I had my mentor assure me, and nudge me all the way.

It was all going great until I fell off a cliff—I came this close to taking off. The distance between success and failure, is that tiny.

But today, I’m still here. More confident, more resilient, more experienced, and absolutely ready to double-down on everything I did right last year, throughout ’09. Now that’s a win.

Thanks, I couldn’t have done it without you.
